刚想起来,昨天美国国庆,庆祝一下

<P>哦,想起一个美国电影“不一样的童年”。剧中有个意大利裔的美国孩子生活在纽约某个街区,特崇拜棒球明星什么的,集了很多球星卡,其中有个当年红极一时的扬基队队员,他正一次次创造美国棒球大联盟史上的全垒打和安打记录。他的一个混迹于黑帮的“代父亲”对他讲,大意是:去他的扬基队(fucking out Yanks),某某人是谁(who is he?),某某人根本不会在乎你(name dont care u on earth),当你真得出了事情需要帮助的时候,他在哪?(where r u? when u could meet sth in real life, and need sb's hand)。</P><P>希望我们不会停留在给别人一次一次地送祝福中。:)</P>

我觉得这一天对于全世界爱好自由的人来说都具有不同寻常的意义。不愿沦为别人殖民地的那些战士,在自由女神带领下与自诩为“文明国家”、“日不落帝国”的殖民者开展顽强的斗争,最终实现了自己的тусгаар тогтнил 和解放,建立了自己的国家。尽管有一些暗角为某些人所诟病,自由在这个国家得到了最大的保障与实现,世界上最健全的民主制度也终于在这个国家得以建立。这是一个新的理想,是全世界民主主义的总阵营,借以与恐怖主义和某些国家的高压统治、对人权的践踏进行斗争,最终让自由的花开遍整个世界。自由、民主、科学,一向是美国文化的核心,对于自由的热爱与追求,对于民主理念和制度的不断探索,和对科学的尊崇,这些是美国精神的真正精髓所在。站在大洋彼岸,来纪念这一日子,似乎并不是什么“瞎”搀和的事情,至少在我看来不是这样。它至少可以给至今挣扎在高压统治和变相专制下的人们一点希望,令他们相信,自由是可以追求得到的,被压迫并不是永远的;至少还有梦,梦中自由女神像在迷人的微笑着。

<P>When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume the Powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.</P>

<P>For protecting them, by a mock Trial, from Punishment for any Murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these States: For cutting off our Trade with all parts of the world:</P>

<P>For depriving us of many cases, of the benefits of Trial by Jury: For transporting us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offences: </P>

<P>In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.</P>
<P>Nor have We been wanting in attention to our British brethren. We have warned them from time to time of attempts by their legislature to extend an unwarrantable jurisdiction over us. We have reminded them of the circumstances of our emigration and settlement here. We have appealed to their native justice and magnanimity, and we have conjured them by the ties of our common kindred to disavow these usurpations, which, would inevitably interrupt our connections and correspondence. They too must have been deaf to the voice of justice and of consanguinity. We must, therefore, acquiesce in the necessity, which denounces our Separation, and hold them, as we hold the rest of mankind, Enemies in War, in Peace Friends.</P>
<P>We, therefore, the Representatives of the United States of America, in General Congress, Assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the Name, and by Authority of the good People of these Colonies, solemnly publish and declare, That these United Colonies are, and of Right ought to be free and independent states; that they are Absolved from all Allegiance to the British Crown, and that all political connection between them and the State of Great Britain, is and ought to be totally dissolved; and that as Free and Independent States, they have full Power to levy War, conclude Peace, contract Alliances, establish Commerce, and to do all other Acts and Things which Independent States may of right do. And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the Protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.</P>

<P>`Give Me Liberty ...`</P><P>Just because America declared independence did not  mean that the mother country would let her`grown-up children`go.The British thought thay had the most freedom of any people in the world. But the colonists didn`t believe they were sharing in that freedom.Most of the colonists were willing to risk their whole future to gain true freedom and many thought that Britain would not voluntarily let them have the land and the trade thay wanted.</P><P>Can you imagine what a tremendous step these new Americans were taking? They were going to have to fight one of the most powerful countries in the world.Thay had often been proud to be Britain`s colonies.Their language was english, and many of their ideas of freedom had  from England.It must have been hard to break away .</P><P>in they failed, the man and women who led the American Revolution would lose their wealth and probably their lives.On any day, an American soldier could be killed.Patrick Henry must have spoken for them when he told his fellow Virginians to `give me liberty,or give me death`</P>
